100 years ago, the Veloce company was very busy in their Fleet Street headquarters. They were prepping for the big Olympia show, with their novel 2.5hp IOE bike continuing from the year before, and the new 3.5hp bike was being introduced. (It would be the November 1913 show when they first brought out their little Velocette two stroke for the 1914 season).

Here at Occhiolungo headquarters, we are busy too; restoring the 3.5hp Velo for its 100th birthday debut and tours. The bike is complete, but some parts are still being painted and nickelled. The goal is for photos and rides starting in January 2013. Stay tuned for more details.

Can’t wait to see it running Pete. It’s going to be a year or more before I see my Pope running, although I am making good progress. Brian in Santa Cruz
