Cannonball 2012 Finish

September 24, 2012

The guys rolled into San Francisco yesterday to finish their trip across the USA.  Many tired bikes and tired blokes, but smiles all around.  The local clubs met the C’ball in Marin and escorted them down to Dudley Perkin’s with a partial police escort too.  It was great to see my old friends.

horn

Many of the bikes had neat junk on them.  Here is Mike Wild’s horn.  The story is that it emits a sound that either scares away moose, or is a moose mating call.

bull

Doug’s bull

olio

oil can

janus

Janus?  Among other things, he is the god of endings, and so  is appropriate for this big Cball finish.

vils and decker

Vils and Decker.  They really had WAY too much fun riding two up….

Awesome, just awesome. I dream of entering this one day. It probably won’t happen, but I’m the eternal fan of coast to coast vintage cannonball runs. Nice pictures!

Looks like Vils dropped acid before he chose his jacket. Heheheheh. Go Knoop/finisher. All others a big thanks for the show and I’d love to know about everthing that broke. Thanks again, Paul Venne

Great to see Chris and the Invincible JAP from Australia at the finish – even though the sidecar wasn’t in the photo. Congratulations to all the competitors.

Great photos and it is good to see that a Velo at least made it part of the way.
