An anonymous motorbike collection

October 13, 2010

Recently I toured the motorbike collection of a very kind and generous man.  As he showed me all of his bikes, tools, memorabilia, etc., he asked that I not mention his name or location, so you’ll have to just enjoy the pics without worrying where the bikes are stored and ridden.

This man collects the wood from old barns, then uses it to build up rooms and buildings for his stuff.

As the photographer steps back, you can see that this building facade is false.  It is built against the interior wall of a warehouse.

His wife, years ago as a little girl.  Posing next to an old bike.

In 1998, this bike was signed by all the living members of the Harley family.IMG_4850 IMG_4851 IMG_4853 IMG_4834 IMG_4835

Several of the little bikes were as new, with 0000 miles on the odometer.  This one has 2 miles.

Gene Autry bicycle.  Note the twin six-shooters mounted on the top frame tube, and the horse head below the handlebars.  Jewels all around and a nice seat bar.  Deluxe bicycle!

Early teens HD single.  He’s owned it 25+ years, and it should be back on the road by next spring.

Workshop photo.

I like his model H or is that O? Horz opposed HD. The 29-30 double headlamp HD. Does he have two? The Military HD 45ci the last shot is the one my buddy down the hill rode as a DR rider. Must get his stories. I’d really like to see him get the HD single on the road. The parts are avail now! The VL restoration looks good! Paint looks correct!
The Gene Autry bicycle -super neat! As is the wizzer etc.
I can understand him if the warehouse is in the city. Why invite problems.
In the country the bodies just get buried in the back with the others. 🙂

Yeah, good stuff. And he is well armed! The signs outside the shop say something like “Don’t walk beyond this point, the guns are loaded…”
