Cannonball: Shinya Kimura

September 9, 2010

Shinya is the best custom bike builder in the world and one of just a few guys that make bikes that are somewhat qualified to be called art.  (in my opinion of course;  your mileage may vary.)  He’s also a swell guy, and he’s riding a 1915 Indian in the Cannonball.  Here are some pics.

Shinya’s 1915 Indian, ready to go.  click on his blog to see some of the build details.

They like to shop.  After visiting some flea markets and 2nd hand stores across the USA, they have a few more items to carry in the van with the bike.

wooden tool box, old saddlebag, convex mirror on the back of the Klaxon horn.

Pete, I’m headed to the run in PA. in the morning. Max Schaff, Chris, and Ken (all Oakland) are in Yellowstone on choppers headed to Brooklyn,NY. and back. Uncle Lenny and the boys are headed to Tahoe for that run, and you, Vince, Dale, Dave K., Lonnie, and all are headed west tommorrow. What a couple of weeks of old friends and old bikes this is. Never seen the likes. I hope to meet you guys in Victorville. Ride safe and enjoy every minute. We’re all watching on numerous blogs. Rich
